Position Description:
Summary
This role will drive innovation across the company’s product/service portfolio, provide proactive technical support to the operations organization. The engineer will work in lock step with shop and field operations to optimize processes and procedures. They will focus on process improvement and operations efficiency ultimately improving quality and costs of operations.

- Work very closely with operations to proactively identify and resolve engineering issues before they occur. Provide expedient, pragmatic solutions, and ensure action is taken to avoid similar issues.
- Effectively balance risk, carry out comprehensive route cause analysis where appropriate, and identify time sensitive workarounds where appropriate.
- Interface closely with the sales organization to stay abreast of customer requirements and ahead of competitors through aligning engineering and R&D efforts to market expectations.
- Establish and implement new product/technology development investment decision framework which enables informed investment decisions.
- Develop and monitor plans and projects, constantly assessing commercial viability and ensuring projects are completed on time and within cost objectives.
- Establish and maintain proactive and positive relationships with key decision makers across the organization, fostering the exchange of ideas and concepts aimed at improving the company’s technology offerings.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the operations and engineering function and build the company’s technical capability through development of current staff.
- Develop appropriate processes and procedures to enable the engineering function to scale in line with the business plan.
- Assess existing processes/procedures and identify opportunities for optimization via lean methodologies; Maintain register of engineering processes, standards and specifications and ensure compliance with relevant industry codes.
- Continuously monitor API 6A and Q1 specifications, modifications to specifications and ensure company is on track to keep certification.
- Must be a team player sharing objectives cross functionally, develop close working relationships with supply chain, finance and operations teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and team leader
- In depth knowledge of wellhead associated products and materials (a plus)
- Strong written, verbal and negotiation skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role is routinely on the shop floor with wellhead and frack stack operations are located. Possible travel to field operations.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Frequent travel to Atlas Pressure Control facilities and field locations we operate in.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (prefer mechanical or industrial)
- 5 years experience
- Knowledge and use of ANSI, ASME and ISO Drafting Techniques and Geometric Tolerance; API/ISO Product Requirements; Basic Stress Analysis; Development and Control of Design Documentation
- Specialized (Advanced) Computer Skills, Advanced Language Skills, Advanced Mathematical Skills and Advanced Reasoning Ability
- Experience managing projects
- Ability to strategize based on market and industry trends
